This is a very cheerful painting. I was thinking of downsizing and getting rid of "stuff" for painting. No, I am just beginning a collection of still life objects. You so inspire me.
ReplyDeleteKeep anything that has an interesting shape, colors . I find I use some pieces over and over and some are still waiting for their day in the spotlight but it's nice to have options of a man made piece to go with flowers, fruit,or whatever else you want to combine. I heard a clutter expert say something to the effect of " get rid of things unless you use them, love them or they have sentimental value" some of these still life prop
ReplyDeleteI didn't get to finish that last comment, Some of these still life props might fit into all 3 categories. If they don't excite you then toss them , sell on eBay ,give away or trade with another artist friend. But if you can start imagining some things they might look great with in a painting , I'd say they are ready inspiration in the days when you might not have an idea of what to paint. Have fun with the still lives.
ReplyDeleteLovely painting, reminds me of late summer in Tuscany.
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan! I'll be taking a group of artists to Tuscany in September if you'd like to join us, get in touch and I'll share the details.
