Daisies and Dots

Daisies and Dots
16 x 12 Oil Painting
Completed this at a workshop with Nancy Medina this weekend. White flowers are always challenging. Varying temperature for the parts in light and shadow and using subtle colors other than pure white are helpful for giving white flowers a sense of form.

Daisies and Dots close-up

Here's a close up of the daisies alone to look more closely at the white flowers. This section alone would make another nice composition.

  1. This is really lovely. I love red and white; love them as they so belong together and are happy. I imagine you had a wonderful time painting with Nancy, though I think you are traveling right now, poor thing, in France!

    1. Thanks Carol. I am back form Provence now. Do you get my newsletter? It came out yesterday and included several photos from the trip which you might enjoy seeing. If you did not get a copy, let me know and I'll send a copy to you and you can sign up for future copies on my website or blog .

    1. Thanks Bruce. Hope you are getting settled into your new home and studio. With no classes to teach this month and my husband away for a few weeks, I am taking on doing 30 paintings in 30 days this month. Care to join me to get back in the saddle consistently?
