Been working on some looser garden paintings lately, contrasting the illusion of details in the main flowers and softer edges and a few suggestions of lit details in the background. Experimenting with gessoboard. Fun because the paint slides around a bit more than canvas, however the paint slides around and doesn't stay put so once you think you have something you like sometimes you come back and it's gone. Had to redo this one several times. May need to let things set up a bit more before putting on finishing touches of thick opaque paint. Painting is a lifelong learning process.
